10 years in jail, KD 1,000 fine stays for insulting ruler

	KUWAIT CITY : The Appeals Court headed by Judge Saleh Al-Mershid upheld the verdict of a previous court that sentenced a suspect to 10 years imprisonment with a fine of KD 1,000 for insulting the Amir. The court also confiscated a gun from the suspect. Case files indicate that the suspect was charged by Public Prosecution for spreading false information abroad on the internal affairs of the country, and also posting video clips on the social networking site YouTube alleging the Kuwaiti Constitution is corrupt. The culprit is reported to have called for toppling of the regime the illegal way and condemned the Amir’s rights stipulated in the Constitution.
