KUWAIT: The Director of the sewage pumping station project and water desalination station in Jahra and Sulaibiya area, Engineer Hamad Shamouh, said that the project will be completed very soon, adding that the two stations are under examination at the present time. Shamouh told Al-Watan that the project of designing, establishing and maintaining the pumping and desalination station in south Jahra had started since April 2008 and is worth 56.9 million Kuwaiti dinars. The project is part of the Ministry of Public Works' plan to improve the performance of sewage network in the country. He disclosed that the project includes establishing a main pumping station in Jahra on a site estimated 40,000 square meters. The station provides a large capacity that could pump 250,000 cubic meters of water per-day. The project also includes establishing a water desalination station in Suliabiya area to treat 180,000 cubic meters of water per-day as well, he added. It is established on a big site estimated 640,000 square meters and the very site can be expanded when necessary in the future, he said.
