| Cabinet to reach decision regarding salary increase for excluded employees |

KUWAIT: Just ahead of the expected resignation of the Cabinet, the government will hold its weekly meeting today to discuss the report of the Civil Service Commission presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, concerning the salary increases of employees in the private and public sectors that were excluded from allowances. In addition, the Cabinet will deliberate the draft laws prepared by Fatwa and Legislation based on the request made by the Cabinet. The first draft is about setting up an independent commission for elections, while the other draft is about forming an independent national committee to supervise future electoral campaigns. Both draft laws aim to boost efforts concerning anti-corruption. It will also ensure the integrity of the electoral process and avoid attempts to interfere or influence voters. Moreover, the Cabinet is expected to condemn the attack launched by several Syrians in Kuwait on the Syrian Embassy, and to listen to a report presented by Minister of Interior and Defense Sheikh Ahmed Al-Homoud about the incident. Furthermore, the Cabinet will also follow up on the development plan and its projects, in addition to the results of the meetings of the ministerial development committee. Minister of Municipality and Public Works Fadel Safar will submit a report about the Jaber Bridge, Al-Shaddadeyya University, and highways projects.
