VAM Systems is currently looking for Systems Engineer - L3 for our UAE operations with the following terms and conditions:
Minimum Experience
● Bachelor’s Degree (B.E, B.Sc, MCA or Equivalent degree)
● Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Managed Service operations or IT Operations
● Minimum 5 years of experience in MS Windows Admin and other technologies highlighted (strong working experience)
● Knowledge on VMWare, VCentre, Network and/or Storage
Job Description
● The purpose of this position is to implement, maintain, and support an infrastructure The job holder will be part of a team responsible for implementing and maintaining a Cloud platform and ensures services are provided according to the agreed contract, SLA, and quality.
● The Microsoft Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Solutions like Microsoft technologies including Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, MS SQL Server(dB Admin’s) and SharePoint, SQL Server and knowledge on VMWare technologies. This position includes working with Enterprise customers in optimizing, and monitoring requirements to gain operational efficiencies in order to drive the organization to a highly customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities, Knowledge and skills for the NSX-T SME:
The Senior Systems Engineer L2/L3/L4 resource responsible to manage and maintain the platform and customer environments.
Engineers need to coordinate directly with the customer and its providers. He will be responsible for the below activities as a database administrator:
● Change and Service Request Management:
● Attend the customer’s database requests
● Assess the impact of the change
● Plan the activities and prepare the activity plan (align with the customer if downtime is required)
● Implement the activities on VM’s
● Perform post review
● Incident and Problem Management
● Attend the incidents from the 24x7 L1 team
● Diagnose the issue and manage the escalation
● Resolve the issue or provide the workaround
● Capacity Management
● Define the capacity requirements
● Conduct gap analysis
● Prepare the capacity management plan
● Execute the plan
Other responsibilities as a Microsoft Engineer includes the following tasks:
● Full responsibility of the Cloud Services and Infrastructure, VMWare Platform.
● Administer systems such as Windows, Active Directory, Monitoring, Exchange, DNS, Lync, and SharePoint, Solutions like Privileged Access Management (Thycotic), MS Azure Administration
● MS SQL Server Administration
● Diagnose system issues, predict future trends, make recommendations and implement client solutions
● Monitor system performance and be proactive in assessing and providing recommendations for improvement of assigned systems and technologies
● Patch and update assigned systems
● Manage the Antivirus solution as per the security best practices
● Maintain and enhance assigned systems for a variety of different vendor products including backup, performance management, network security, network services, etc.
● Follow the escalation matrix and update the flash report for the delayed projects in order to notify the management and other stakeholders
● Update the managers on open Problem Notifications, production issues.
● Create, maintain and update required documentation, records, logs, and reports.
● Manage the development and implementation of formal procedures that fully documents the design, implementation, provisioning, support and monitoring requirements for all existing and new Cloud Services.
● Manage and review the development and documenting of Business Continuity Plans. Manage the testing business contingency plans. Report on success of disaster recovery, tests, ensures that results are published and necessary changes implemented.
● The Successful Systems Engineer/Administrator, must have experience in the following:
● Demonstrated experience in Windows Administrations
● Proven experience in Windows Operating environments
● Experience and knowledge of VMware, Active Directory and SharePoint
● Strong communication skills and able to work within a team
