‘Stop work between 11 am – 4 pm’

  KUWAIT CITY : Senior officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor have said the labor sector is preparing to activate a ministerial decision that specifies the working hours in unsheltered areas during the peak season, reports Al-Anba daily.

The ministry specifies that work should stop at 11 am and recommence at 4 pm in all exposed areas, beginning June 1 until the last day of August. Officials added that inspection will be conducted at various project sites during the period, and inspectors will be authorized to arrest those who are caught violating the ministry’s directives.

They noted the decision will be implemented in both government and private sectors, thus the ministry advices contractors and employers to abide by directives to avoid legal action.
