KUWAIT: The Kuwait Fire Services Directorate announced that the six men were painting a room used for sewage collection when the fumes from the chemicals products knocked them out.
The Directorate added that the Shuwaikh Industrial area fire services and the technical rescue emergency center responded to the call and rushed to the site, which was a small 25 square meter room in the basement that had no doors, only two small openings that were three meters off the ground.
The firefighters descended into the room using assisted breathing apparatuses, and lifting the six men using ropes then evacuating them to an emergency medical center.
The whole operation took no longer than 10 minutes; however, one of the firefighters was injured in the process.
In related news, the Directorate fought a major fire that broke out with the Shuwaikh area late afternoon, early evening. Sources said that the fire occurred at a carpet factory but that could not be confirmed at the time.
